About this desk
One topic, covered properly. This desk is the seventeenth in a series that explains how online gambling mechanics work, and it owns exactly one cluster: what happens to the money in an account.
What this desk covers
Every page on this site is about one of five things: the characterisation of a balance, the mechanics of holding customer money apart, the labels regimes use and who defines them, the sequence of an operator failure and the queue a claim joins, or the instruments in an account that are not a balance at all. Nothing else is in scope, and the site deliberately does not spread into payments, withdrawals, bonuses or licensing in general - those belong to other desks in the series.
| This desk does | This desk does not |
|---|---|
| Explain the mechanism of funds protection in general terms, with worked arithmetic | Rank operators, review them, or recommend where to hold money |
| Name the shape of the rules regimes use, and how to find the condition for your own operator | Name an authority, bank, insurer or scheme as a place to rely on, or confirm that any condition applies in your territory |
| Describe the ordinary sequence of an operator failure and the legal order of payment | Predict the solvency of any operator, or state that any balance is safe |
| Show the five lookups that turn a belief into a documented fact | Advise on withdrawing, moving or recovering a balance by any route |
How it is funded
One affiliate link, disclosed on every page and marked as sponsored. If a reader opens an account with the partner operator through that link, this site may be paid, at no extra cost to the reader. That payment does not depend on anything written here, and the desk contains no ranking, no review and no recommendation of the partner operator or of any other. The disclosure band at the top of every page says the same thing, because the relationship should be visible before the reader has read a word of the content.
The method
- Answer first. Every page opens with a direct answer in forty to sixty words, before any explanation.
- No invented numbers. Where a figure is set by a regime or by an operator's terms, the page says so and describes the shape instead of asserting a universal value.
- Arithmetic shown. Every numeric page shows the working, so a reader can re-derive the conclusion rather than accept it.
- Illustrative examples, never real ones. Balances, pools and operators in the worked examples are illustrations of ordinary shape. No real operator, bank, authority, insurer or account is described.
- Structure that can be checked. Canonical URLs, one canonical page per question, structured data that describes only what the page actually says, and no runtime JavaScript.
This site is written for adults and is about regulated products that carry a real risk of loss. It contains no promotion of gambling, no incentive to play, no picks, tips or predictions, and nothing aimed at anyone under eighteen. Explanations of a mechanism are not advice, and understanding how funds are held does not change the arithmetic of a game: over time, the expected result of play is a loss.
The partner link on this page is a disclosed sponsored link and the only commercial element on the site. It recommends no operator besides naming the partner that funds the desk, and nothing here claims that any product or protection applies where you are.
